Favorite Hibachi Catering ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website https://osakahibachi2door.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site or submitting a form, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Booking & contact details: your name, phone number, email, event date, party size, menu choices, and any additional notes you enter into our booking or allergy forms.
  • Health-related info: food allergies you voluntarily provide via the Allergy Form (used only to keep guests safe; never shared for marketing).

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time on page, referring URL.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: small data files stored in your browser. See Section 4.
  • Advertising identifiers: when you arrive via an ad on Meta (Facebook/Instagram), we may receive click identifiers (e.g., fbclid) and UTM parameters to measure ad performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To confirm your booking, contact you about your event, and prepare food safely (allergy info).
  • To improve our Site, menu, and customer service.
  • To measure the performance of our advertising (e.g., did clicking our Meta ad lead to a booking).
  • To send occasional follow-up messages about your event or seasonal promotions (only to addresses you provided to us; you can opt out anytime by replying "unsubscribe" or emailing us).

3. Third-Party Services We Use

We use the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy.

  • Formspree (form submission backend): when you submit a booking or allergy form, your input is delivered through Formspree to our email inbox. See Formspree Privacy Policy.
  • Meta Pixel / Conversions API (advertising analytics): we use Meta's Pixel to measure ad performance and improve ad targeting. The Pixel only loads after you accept cookies via our consent banner. See Meta Privacy Policy.
  • GitHub Pages (website hosting): the Site is served from GitHub. See GitHub Privacy Policy.

4. Cookies and Tracking

We use a small number of cookies/local storage entries:

  • Essential: to remember your cookie preference (the Accept/Decline choice).
  • Analytics & advertising: Meta Pixel cookies for ad performance — these only load if you click Accept on our consent banner.

You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing localStorage in your browser, or by emailing us to request opt-out.

5. Your Rights

If you live in New Jersey (NJDPA, effective July 2025)

Under the New Jersey Data Privacy Act you have the right to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal data, and access it.
  • Correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Delete your personal data.
  • Opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal data.
  • Obtain a portable copy of your data.

California residents have similar rights: to know what we collect, to delete, to correct, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. Use the same email above to make a request.

You may decline cookies via our consent banner at any time. You may also unsubscribe from any marketing communication you receive from us.

6. Data Retention

Booking and contact data is kept for up to 3 years after your event, for accounting and follow-up purposes. Allergy info is deleted within 30 days after the event. Server logs and ad-attribution data is kept up to 13 months.

7. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent or guardian believes their child has submitted information, contact us to delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures (HTTPS, password-protected accounts, limited employee access) to protect your data. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 14 days.
